#CuentaCombel to celebrate reading
Today we celebrate authors, books, illustrators and reading! World Book Day is the biggest celebration of its kind. In Catalonia it becomes an especially romantic festivity. We celebrate the day of Sant Jordi (Saint George) with our own tradition. We exchange roses and books with our loved ones.
This year, books and roses stalls are not set up along the streets of Barcelona. Sant Jordi’s celebration has been postponed till the 23rd July… We’ll have to wait till summer to walk around stalls looking for new books. We do miss the scent of the roses already. Instead we’re sending whatsapps and making videocalls.
In the meantime, our beloved authors are hitting back on social media reading their work online to keep us company. Check out #CuentaCombel.
A YouTube list created so that children enjoy a wonderful time of good literature with stories narrated by their authors. Spending a little time each day with our beloved authors and being able to share a story will be the catalyst of a magical time around books, which will surely carry them away from their confined space.
