Meritxell Duran was finalist at the 2019 Junceda’s Awards for Friends.

As you might know, the Junceda is one of the most important awards of illustration in Spain. It is organised by the APIC (Professional Association of Illustrators in Catalonia).

Back in 2011, Meritxell Duran had already been awarded in the category of Fiction Adults. But this year, she was finalist in the one of Fiction Children’s Books.

The awards ceremony of the XVI Edition was held at the Santa Monica Arts Center Barcelona last Thursday. Meritxell didn’t win the prize. But we did enjoy the event very much. The Junceda’s are always a great opportunity to meet many of the illustrators and friends with whom we work day by day.

We at Combel are proud to have published Meritxell Duran first children’s book Friends:

One Of A Kind novelty that helps children to understand that close friendships work because a pair are not like two peas in a pod. Sometimes the most unlikely people get together and make the best of friends. And the best of books. Don’t you agree?
