“I’m going to tell you a beautiful story. Wait and see what fun we’ll have!”
Raúl Nieto Guridi, a.k.a. Guridi, has been invited by the Salone Internazionale del Libro Torino (Italy). The 32nd edition of the Fair will take place from 9th to 13th May in Turin.
This year, Spanish is the guest language of the event. That’s why Instituto Cervantes, the largest organization in the world responsible for promoting the study and the teaching of Spanish language and culture, has collaborated in building up the program.
Guridi will run a workshop on the album You and I. The loveliest story in the world, written by Elisenda Roca. We are very happy to count on our Italian partner for the occasion: Edizioni Clichy, the publisher of Tu e io. La storia piu bella del mondo.
Under the premise that sharing stories can be a powerful tool for emotional expression, the illustrator will discuss the doubts and emotions that a child feel when a new baby arrives:
“I’m going to tell you a beautiful story.
You’ll see it’s very interesting.
There are no witches or kings or dragons or fairies.
The main characters are you and me.”
“The story starts on the day
they filled me with joy.
Mummy had a big smile on her face
and Daddy was making her laugh.
I couldn’t begin to imagine
what they were going to tell me.
As they love me to the moon and back,
they were going to bring me the most beautiful gift.”
Would you like to know more about the story of these brothers, double check the program and find out further information.
Il Castello, another of our Italian partners, will also be attending the Fair. If you drop by their stand, you will be able to look through All I Know About the People [Tutto quello que so su la gente] by Jaume Copons, and illustrated by Guridi as well.
If you are around, drop by to say hello to Raúl!
