The Iliad

The Iliad is an epic poem attributed to Homer that recounts the final year of the Trojan War. After nine long years of fighting, Achilles, the greatest of the Greek heroes, realizes that he has yet to perform any deed worthy of the eternal glory his mother once foretold. This moment marks the beginning of the story.

Pau Sabaté

Pau Sabaté (Barcelona, 1989) is a translator and holds a degree in Classical Philology from the University of Barcelona. From Ancient Greek, he has translated, among other works, The Iliad into Catalan and a selection of fragments by Sappho into Spanish. He is also the secretary of the Catalan Association of Neohellenists and a lecturer at the Rovira i Virgili University in Tarragona.

Arnal Ballester

Arnal Ballester (Barcelona, 1955) has a multifaceted career that includes illustrating nearly eighty books. He has also worked for the country’s leading newspapers and created animations for television and film festivals. In 1993, he received the Illustrator of the Year Award at the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, and in 2008, he was awarded the National Illustration Prize.
