Turn the Turtle

Susanna Isern is a writer, psychologist, teacher and mother of three children. She graduated in Psychology from the University of Barcelona and specialised in clinical psychology at the Complutense University of Madrid. For more than a decade she combined her work as a therapist and university lecturer with her passion for literature. She currently devotes herself exclusively to writing. She is a leading author of children's and YA's literature in Spain: She has published almost a hundred books in Spanish.

Pep Montserrat was born in Roda de Ter in 1966. He studied Mural Painting at Llotja and Graphic Design at the Eina school in Barcelona. Since then, he has illustrated many children's books, distinguished with awards such as the National Award from the Ministry of Culture (1995), the International Catalonia Award (1997), the Generalitat de Catalunya Award (1998), and inclusion in the IBBY Honor List (1998). As a press illustrator, he regularly publishes in the newspapers Avui, La Vanguardia, and El País and The Chicago Tribune. He has also collaborated with The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe. He is the creator, along with the writer Montse Ganges, of an animated television series titled Miniman, produced by Cromosoma. Since 1998, he has taught Illustration at the Massana School in Barcelona. Recently awarded with the 2024 National Illustration Prize.
