11/02/202611 de February de 2026 TAICCA Publishing Fellowship: Key Takeaways from TIBE An Inspiring Week in Taipei: International Exchange, Market Insights & Rights Opportunities We’ve just returned from Taipei after participating in the TAICCA Publishing Fellowship at the Taipei International Book Exhibition (TIBE), supported by the Institut Ramon Llull and ICEC. With full access to the fair, market sessions, museum and bookstore visits, and B2B meetings, we gained valuable insights into the Taiwanese, and broader Asian, publishing landscape. Combel Taiwanese Editions at TIBE One of the highlights was seeing the Taiwanese editions of our books on display. Encountering our titles in another language and cultural context was a powerful reminder of the impact of international collaboration and the long journey behind every rights deal. Opportunities Ahead: Taiwan as a Hub Asian markets may appear small at first glance, but they offer real potential for publishers who build strong, trusted partnerships. Fellowships like TAICCA’s play a vital role in fostering meaningful connections and long-term collaborations with publishers and literary agencies across the region. Learning from Our Fellows The fellowship brought together 30 publishing professionals from Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Connecting with such a diverse and international group was truly inspiring. Sharing experiences and perspectives reinforced the idea that publishing is a global conversation: one that sparks ideas, collaborations, and friendships that extend well beyond Taipei. Engaging Generation Z: The White Whale Generation Z emerged as a recurring topic. Reaching this digitally native and diverse audience remains a challenge. They do read, but they seek authenticity, meaningful experiences, and stories that reflect real-life issues. These discussions were thought-provoking and highlighted opportunities to rethink content development, marketing approaches, and rights strategies. Beyond TIBE: Food, Night Markets & Karaoke Moments outside the fair were just as memorable. Delicious food, vibrant night markets, and our first-ever karaoke night reminded us that publishing is ultimately about people, trust, and shared experiences. What a blast! Grateful and Inspired Our sincere thanks to TAICCA and the Institut Ramon Llull for their support, vision, and commitment to international exchange. We return inspired, grateful, and full of ideas, excited for the opportunities that began in Taipei. Thank you, TAICCA. Thank you, Fellows. See you in Bologna!
