Enric Jardí Curates “Los libros de Barcelona” at MUSA, Guadalajara

How master designers shape Combel’s international reach

Enric Jardí, one of Combel’s most trusted and influential designers, is the curator of “Los libros de Barcelona. Diseño y edición”, an exhibition directed by the Disseny Hub Barcelona and hosted by MUSA (Museo de las Artes de la Universidad de Guadalajara) during FIL 2025.

A leading authority in editorial design and visual identity, Jardí has received prestigious distinctions including the Laus Awards and the National Cultural Prize in Design. He is also the author of foundational books on typography and visual communication, and he has shared his expertise in design schools and universities worldwide.

Building on this expertice, his influence extends far beyond Spain through international longsellers such as Look! Dr. Goodview, Good Morning & Good Night, The Human Body Inside & Out, Baby Pop, and the recently launched Ticniks series, already available in five languages.

The current exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the history of editorial design in Barcelona, exploring the evolution of the book cover as a central element and showcasing the book not only as a medium but as a carefully crafted object.

This exhibition is more than a celebration of Barcelona’s editorial heritage: it is a recognition of designers, whose vision has shaped the look and international impact of many of our most successful titles.

Three Combel titles have been selected for the exhibition: two volumes of Agus & Monsters the bestselling graphic novel series by Copons & Fortuny, translated into 22 languages, and The Witches of Ariete by Bel Olid and Pep Montserrat. All designed by Miquel Puig, another cornerstone of the Combel and Bambú lists.

For those who missed it in Guadalajara, Los libros de Barcelona will soon be back at the Disseny Hub in Barcelona, highlighting the city’s editorial design and its culture of innovation.
