Copons and Salomó Wonder at the Amazing Spontaneous Workshops in FIL Niños 2025

For another year, the Guadalajara Book Fair dedicated a full program to children. During the fair, the Amazing Spontaneous Workshops were celebrated, this edition under the inspiring theme “The Language of Wonder.”

These activities are designed to nurture curiosity in an age of digital overstimulation, encouraging children to slow down, observe closely, listen deeply, and rediscover the extraordinary in everyday life.

Throughout the week, international authors and illustrators led activities that let children retell classic stories, explore illustration and pop-up books, build fantastic characters, craft comics, play with sound, and write poems… all in the spirit of discovering that a sincere wow, uff, or ohh can transform the ordinary into something extraordinary. 

Among the international lineup of creators two of Combel’s internationally bestselling authors stood out: Jaume Copons and Xavier Salomó.

Building a Robot Together

After a monstrous tour through Mexican schools and libraries, Jaume Copons energized a workshop inviting children to design a new robot. This creative collective challenge could inspire a new character for the next issue of one of his series. Could it be a new friend for Rob & Ot, or will it join Bitmax & Co at the Blue Forest.? Only time will tell. Stay tuned.

Open Eyes to Wonders

Meanwhile, Xavier Salomó marveled young audiences with a hands-on workshop inspired by Ticniks, his new bestselling series. Children explored the language of comics and created new dialogues with playful twists, discovering the delightful surprises that an old trunk in an antique shop might be hiding.

The enthusiastic reception of Xavier Salomó and Jaume Copons at FIL Niños 2025 confirms why their books are international bestsellers: their stories and illustrations spark curiosity, inspire play, and connect with young readers everywhere. Thanks to authors like Copons and Salomó, that sense of wonder continues to spread globally.
