About us
Combel Editorial is a publishing company which from 1989 onwards has published illustrated books for boys and girls with the aim of offering quality material to get them started as readers.
Our catalogue comprises a very wide range of titles, from cloth books and cardboard books for the very young, to storybooks and knowledge books for children up to nine. The choice of material we publish is based on two fundamental principles: a guiding educational value and the need for quality in both text and illustrations. These principles feed our desire to collect the most interesting ideas from national authors and illustrators and to pay attention to what is published abroad in order to introduce the most innovative projects into our own cultural set.
Combel Editorial has belonged to the Casals Publishing group since 1994, though it has its own publishing line and separate catalogue. The basic ideas behind the Combel catalogue are:
- fiction titles to teach the children to interpret the aesthetic values of the text and the images;
- classical stories so that the young readers acquire an early cultural heritage and discover our traditions;
- knowledge books to help them understand the world that surrounds them;
- workbooks to reinforce what they learn in school.
In accord with our intention to go even further, in 2006 we opened a branch in Mexico
